PVRblog: Stop the Broadcast Flag

PVRblog has some interesting thoughts on the Broadcast Flag which will soon take away our freedom to record and transfer television shows from one device to another. It is really too bad that the vast majority of the US population has no clue that this law is set to go into effect in 2005.

It’s also too bad that the FCC doesn’t realize that, like every other copy protection technology, this will undoubtedly be hacked - and good luck enforcing the DMCA on someone who has a Broadcast-Flagless TiVo that they are using for personal use.

The FCC and the US government do nothing to stick up for individuals who want to use technology and innovate. Because of this, we have to wait for corporations to create devices with the features we want.
