Face it, File Sharing Can’t Be Stopped

Countless man hours have been wasted by the RIAA on lawsuits and intimidation techniques in effort to end the file sharing of music. As you and I know, they have failed. The USA Today is running an article reporting that file-sharing has increased by 19% since June 2003, proving yet again that free mixed with convenient cannot be stopped. The way we see it, the major record labels which were once cash cows, have failed to innovate.

Technology has grown faster than the music industry and when the chance was there in the early years of the internet (dial-up), the major record labels failed to create a business model to propel the industry into the next generation, foolishly thinking that CDs were the end all and that consumers would continue to purchase at $15 per disc.
