Video via WiFi to your TV
Siliconvalley.com is reporting that Atheros Communications, a Sunnyvale developer of wireless chips, has unveiled a low-cost chipset that can beam movies between personal computers, televisions and other devices. This should be an interesting product due to the fact that it supposedly sends HD video signals to a digital TV all via WiFi. If you’ve read our review of the D-Link DSM-320 you know that in order for video to be sent via WiFi (802.11G even) and without it pausing every few seconds, you’ll have to be a few feet from the access point. As far as we’re concerned, the bandwidth to do this wirelessly just isn’t there yet.
