NIKE-ID: From Outer-space Workstations

NIKE-ID
Hiroshi Fujiwara, one of Japan’s most popular pop musicians, recently spent some time at Nike’s Portland and LA headquarters. His blog entry on the visit contains some cool pics of Nike’s private jets, but most interesting are the pics of the NIKE-ID machines of the future. Sure you can customize a pair of Nike sneaks from the comfort of your own home, but wouldn’t you feel much cooler designing them on this straight-from-outer-space NIKE-ID machine? The machines look they’re from War of the Worlds, but don’t worry, they wear Nike shoes just like the rest of us.

You do realize that’s a Apple iMac in the center of the kiosk right? Apple worked with Nike to help provide macs for this project. Nike in turn hired programmers to write software (beautiful i might ad) that runs only on Macs.
